Runes/Talismans
Originating from the peoples of Northern Europe and Scandinavian mythology, the Runic Alphabet has an undeniable enigmatic nature. Many of these symbols have been found in European caves and on rock carvings.
As ancient societies evolved, people began to use these symbols for various types of inscriptions. Runic inscriptions on weapons and jewelry transformed these objects into talismans.
These sacred symbols are used today as divination tools, or even as talismans. Runic alphabets are known as futharks and the best known is the Elder Futhark.
Each rune contains three aspects: A sound (in some traditions, each rune is also a song), a geometric shape and a mystical meaning, an energy.
In ancient times, people wore jewelry decorated with runes or engraved with runic inscriptions to protect themselves from illness, accidents, and evil forces. Since each rune radiates a specific power, they are still considered especially beneficial for "protective magic" when worn intentionally as a talisman, much like you would wear a specific stone for its properties.
There are 24 runes in the Elder Futhark.
Some are very powerful and beneficial and I have selected those that I consider important to wear in everyday life.
